Man City keep lining ‘em up so the Toffees can shoot ‘em down. This is how I would describe the Lescott transfer saga. Everton announced on their official site that the £18 bid they received for Lescott has been “rejected outright”. This is once again the obvious decision on behalf of the club, and reaffirms their commitment to improving the club, not weakening it. Lescott is one of the most consistent performers in the starting XI, and has developed into a first-rate defender with a deft scoring touch. I mentioned in a post yesterday that I thought this deal would not happen due to Nedum Onuoha signing a five year contract extension to stay in the Middle Eastlands, as he was a player that would have likely been involved in any deal. I love the resolve of David Moyes and company, as he refuses to be bullied by the large pockets of the Citizens. The tactics that Man City have employed to strengthen their squad is use their vast resources to buy the top players from their rivals, in an attempt to weaken them. This is a tactic that I deplore, and I look forward to taking on the Middle Eastlands club this year and their 5 striker formation!
